I’ve been thinking about the following quote that i’ve tweeted just recently.

It may sound too harsh, but it’s actually not.

I’ve been in marketing strategy meetings where people talk about their execution plan as such…

“We are going to advertise on TikTok”,

“We will kill this ad / that ad”

“We’ll create an ever-green webinar”

“We’ll pay $$$$ to this famous guy to say our brand”

On and on and on…

Without your own data and analytics, you might as well go and gamble in Las Vegas.

How do you determine your marketing strategy?

My fundamental question has always been like “Why?”

Why do you do what you say you are going to do?

Is it because you just heard it from someone?

Or from some mastermind group?

Or watched some “influencer” online?

Real marketer should base their decision on data and data only. Without your own data and analytics, you might as well go and gamble in Las Vegas 😊.

So what should you do as a real marketer?

Let’s put it in perspective…

All of us are familiar with “Thank you for your order!” also known as a confirmation page. If a visitor doesn’t get any further than that page, there is absolutely no way for marketers to understand the motivations and characteristics of that user.

That is one website visit and sale that you’ve lost all the information.

However, if marketers know why some visitors made the decision, they can investigate their behaviors in real-time and implement their own campaign to better encourage the sale.

What do we need?

To understand why a visitor came to your landing page and why they pulled out a wallet (or Google Pay  😉), we will need a tracking link and a setup campaign to use it.

What marketing channels are available for your business?

Let’s talk about a few common tracking campaigns for your business:

  • Marketing channels such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Bing Ads, Twitter Ads, TikTok ads etc.
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Social Media
  • Organic Traffic
  • Sales Team
  • Customer Referrals
  • so on

Whatever your marketing channel would be, tracking should be there regardless

How to increase sales quickly and accurately with UTM tracking?

So, you may ask… how does it help?

Let’s say you’re creating an online campaign with an ad in Google Ads that you think will work well in attracting visitors who might turn into customers. To make this campaign last long term, we may want to check which ad is performing the best so that we can eliminate the poor ads and channel our efforts into successful ones.

Tracking links allow marketers to track visitors referring from different ads and landing pages to understand their browsing and order behavior.

You can build end-to-end automation, so internet users become your local audience. This can also bring your CPA down and maximize your conversion rate…

Therefore High ROAS!
